Gareth Bacon AM: Thank you, Chair. I will start by echoing something you said earlier on, David, and it was echoed by Sir Peter. As a regeneration project, it has to be acknowledged that it is successful. Compared to any other Olympic city in the past, what has happened in London is transformationally better than anywhere else. Andrew Boff AM: How could something be described as ‘sustainable’ when London taxpayers will have to keep propping you up every year and you cannot tell us when that is going to stop? How is that sustainable?

We accept the view, which has been expressed by the Mayor, which we directly elected members, we take the view that the most important thing for our boroughs is that there is a designated chief officer of whatever rank who is going to be responsible for the borough. That is key to us. If the Mayor says that he is going to do that, we certainly accept that. Obviously you have quite a bit of flexible working between boroughs and within your own service. Are you looking at more flexible working with shared services involving the other emergency services?
