  • London Fire Brigade and delivery for Londoners (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 February 2022
Len Duvall AM: If I can just go back over some of the issues, if we set aside some of the challenges in terms of service delivery that you have, we know we have the Government thing and the feds do not really understand us and never really supported some of our services. It does not matter, regardless of political persuasion, there is always that tension. We now have regional politicians and the likes of the Mayor [of London] and Fiona Twycross giving the resources that they can provide to you in terms of the service. In that sense, you...
  • How are you seeking to transform the London Fire Brigade so that it is well equipped to keep Londoners safe in the future? LFB Budget (Supplement) [11]

    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 February 2022
The LFB is currently using its reserves in terms of balancing its budgets. That cannot be a good thing and I know it is not for the long term and why you have to do it, but you have to do it -. Does it not put additional pressures on you and your transformational process and work to deliver the better services that Londoners need?

In terms of the challenges faced by the LFB in the future, severe weather is having an impact, and in terms of flooding in particular, does the LFB have the equipment it needs and the right level of resource to respond to flooding in London now and in the future?
  • Reducing Car Parking in North Greenwich Station

    • Reference: 2006/0465-1
    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 06 December 2006
Given TfL's proposal to substantially reduce the car parking at North Greenwich station what steps have they taken to provide alternative parking and how do they intend to secure the future of this car park given London Underground's description of this station as a key gateway? This park and ride facility is used by my constituents from all parts of Greenwich as public transport to and from the station from some parts of the borough is inadequate. Reducing car parking will not encourage people to use public transport, as many will find it quicker to drive into central London or...

  • Blackwall Tunnel

    • Reference: 2006/0019-1

  • Ticket Charge Discrepancy

    • Reference: 2006/0020-1
    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 15 March 2006
Recently, a constituent happened to buy an extension ticket from zone 2 to zone 3 at a tube station, although they were planning on making that journey on the DLR. At the DLR station it costs £1.50, but anywhere else on the network charges £3. Can you explain this anomaly and what are you doing to either integrate the fares or ensure that those selling tickets are aware of this.
  • Injuries on Buses

    • Reference: 2006/0021-1
    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE

Further to my question to the Mayor (1747/2005) in September 2005, can you update me on TfL's discussions on setting up a compensation fund for those that are injured on London Buses, when the operators are not liable?
  • Siting of Bus Shelters

    • Reference: 2006/0022-1
    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 15 March 2006
Can you outline your policy for siting bus shelters? I understand that TfL are currently installing shelters at every stop, where possible. However, I would like to see you engage in proper consultation with residents who are affected not just a letter informing them that it is taking place.
