I am speaking to you from the Chamber at City Hall, which is on one of the more notorious public‑private spaces, More London, and we are shortly going to be moving to The Crystal. My first question is: who actually owns the land that The Crystal is on? Is it one of the GLA’s pocket strategic development sites? Is it owned by the developer Advanced Business Park? Is it someone else entirely?

To fulfil your vision, your modelling shows you are going to need a nursery in place by 2020 and another two years later. I am pleased you have made progress on this in your work. Given the extensive political opposition to a third runway at Heathrow and the inevitable legal and planning challenges that will arise it is almost certain expansion is unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future at Heathrow. How can we ensure that the Games leave a lasting legacy, not just in facilities and infrastructure but also in the lives of ordinary Londoners, for example their enthusiasm for and participation in grass roots sports?
