Graham Tope (AM): I did want to concentrate today on young people as victims of crime. Every London borough has amongst its top three priorities dealing with anti-social behaviour and whilst that is a priority in every borough it does tend to reinforce the stereotype, the image of young people as the perpetrators and as the problem and does not adequately recognise that more often they are the victims. In terms of talking and working with young people, one of the objectives in the MPS youth strategy is to provide an environment for young people who are victims or witnesses...

If Step Change is as successful as we all hope it is, then obviously it will create that sort of public demand and the demand to have it spread. Whilst I might share the aspirations of the Chair that this will persuade whoever is in Government to provide additional resources, if they do not " and I have to say there is no indication that they will at this stage " how can we go ahead to meet those public expectations that we helped to create?

Thank you, Chair. The answer was very encouraging and dealt with a lot of our interests. Chair, you mentioned that we were in Brent last night for People's Question Time. The audience of several hundred people were asked what they thought was London's strongest asset. The answer, by what I think was a very substantial margin, was its people, by which I think we mean the cultural diversity and so on. Thank you very much. Can I now turn to training facilities, which we talked about earlier. I think you mentioned in your introduction that 10 boroughs will actually have sporting events taking place in them. I must say I had not realised there would be that many. What about the other 22 boroughs? Obviously, they cannot have sporting events taking place there, but what about using their facilities for teams to train at?

I will bring us back to the original question, interesting though that exchange has been, which in a sense was about the clarity and the presentation of information. Is the Chair aware that we have been making - by we, I mean the Finance Committee, and particularly the Budget Review Group on which Eric Ollerenshaw sits, and attends regularly - we have been making efforts to try to present the financial information in a much clearer way and a simpler way, whilst maintaining obviously its accuracy. Have steps been taken to minimise the impact of the increased security measures in central London on Borough Policing? .
