  • London and Covid-19 Restrictions (Supplementary) [11]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 12 January 2021
Léonie Cooper AM (on behalf of Jennette Arnold OBE AM): Thank you very much, Chair. It is quite ironic because Assembly Member Arnold’s question is about digital access, which she clearly does not have this morning at all. I wondered if I could ask John Barradell and possibly Fiona Twycross as well, between you, what the Mayor and local authorities can do to support digital access for Londoners, which has become so important during the pandemic for everybody, from young to old. Can I start with you, John, maybe?
  • London Recovery Board and London Transition Board (Supplementary) [12]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 02 July 2020
Jennette Arnold OBE AM: Good morning, all. Thank you, Chair. Can I add my thanks and gratitude to Mr Barradell, Deputy Mayor Twycross and all members of the team for the work they are doing. I share my colleague Assembly Member Duvall’s confidence in you, John. If we needed somebody in your seat, it is good that we have you. Seriously, what can we say. We can all agree that COVID has shattered any illusions that we live in a fair city. The focus of my questions today are about protecting vulnerable Londoners, especially the impact of COVID-19 upon young...

Thank you, Chair. I have got a number of questions. Firstly, to go back to what John was talking about, on the people legacy. The Olympic Park set itself benchmarks, as you know, Margaret. I know that you have been aware of the programmes it implemented. The sadness is that those teams may now well disperse. I welcome what you are doing with schools. Would you agree with me that you need also to work with local colleges, in the way that the ODA did, and what you need to do is, in a sense, take the baton and do...
  • Challenges and Risks (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 March 2010
As the representative of Hackney, which you talked about as one of the landowners, and also it is linked to the relationship with communities, can you confirm how you are going to manage the priorities and the ambitions that are held by boroughs like Hackney, and any demands that will come through from the private sector? By this I mean, if we just stay with the Broadcast Centre, you will know, Baroness Ford, that schools and colleges certainly around Hackney have started to look at their curriculum and have started to look forward to the point that they will be...
