  • Budget proposals

    • Reference: 2013/0003
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 January 2013
What flexibility is there to alter the Mayor's budget proposals following the current public consultation on the draft Police and Crime Plan?
  • Diamond Jubilee

    • Reference: 2012/0038-2
    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 19 July 2012
I did want to pick up a question I had asked last month, we had the Diamond Jubilee, were there any particular operational issues that were learned, Commissioner, that you are then applying to the games themselves?
  • Community Fire Safety Work (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
Indeed. That is showing up in the home safety checks which I think have risen from around 9,000 a couple of years ago to approximately 20,000 in the year that has just ended and the target for the current year is approximately 30,000. Even if you add all that up, that is 40,000-50,000 home safety checks. One or two per cent of Londoners have had a home safety check. Should we not be looking for a real huge step forward in this area?
  • Removal of Beds in Fire Stations (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
I have to say that I am surprised to see this question here, and it can only have come here because the Chair of the Authority has chosen to brief her colleagues on this. This matter is being debated, I thought, through the Chair's Coordinating Group which is normally a confidential body while options are discussed. Will the Chair confirm that there is no dispute that there are clearly variable natures of work between night and day? The crucial point is to establish that on the night shift there is no question of people being paid to sleep on the...
  • London Resilience Funding (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
Given the stonewalling, would you support the creation of a cross-party delegation, including the Mayor, to take this issue forward to lobby the Government and to generally raise awareness of the issue in relation to London and Londoners?
  • London Resilience Funding

    • Reference: 2006/0313-1
    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
In 2007/08, LFEPA will experience a £6.9M black hole in additional London Resilience funding as well as significant other London Resilience financial deficits in other years. When will the Government recognise the unique need to protect its capital city from major incidents and fund this shortfall?
  • LDA Agenda (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2004
The thesis behind this question is that the Assembly has a statutory responsibility to hold the LDA to account, but you are not a creature of regional government; there are these multiple accountabilities. If we are to do our job in holding you to account effectively, we need to see how these conflicts are working, and we talked offline about the difficulty of, for example, making available publicly a Government Office for London quarterly assessment of you. I think we need to explore further how to see that relationship working better with government. Moving on to the second question relating...
  • LDA Agenda (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Mike Tuffrey
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2004
In relation to the mayoral interventions, either directly or through advisors, at the Economic and Social Development Committee you said that there had never been a time when you had actually refused a request. There had been vigorous discussions, but the answer had never been `no'.
  • Vehicle Replacement

    • Reference: 2003/0319
    • Question by: Lynne Featherstone
    • Meeting date: 12 November 2003
Why is there a gap in the "rolling replacement " programme between May 2004 and August 2006 when no new vehicles will be supplied? What assurances can you give that LFEPA will be able to negotiate and accelerate the appliance replacement programme to shorten this 14 month gap with Asset Co? .
  • Pensions

    • Reference: 2003/0320
    • Question by: Sally Hamwee
    • Meeting date: 12 November 2003
What steps are you taking to ensure that the increasing budget cost associated with pensions are fully covered by the government and not by London residents through the Council Tax precept? .
