    Many areas in Croydon and Sutton are cursed with the riding of small mini-mopeds and motorcycles on pathways, parks, open spaces and roads by riders often unhelmeted. Frequently it seems that individual community ward officers do their very best to tackle the problems arising from this behaviour. What though is best practice across the Metropolitan Police Service on dealing with this problem ? What powers are employed to tackle such behaviour and what additional powers could the police service seek to tackle this issue?

    I chair the Assembly's Budget Committee and I was quite taken aback by a comment made by the Mayor at the December Budget Committee that an undertaking was given to you when you were appointed that you would have the right of veto over the appointment of board members.
