To fulfil your vision, your modelling shows you are going to need a nursery in place by 2020 and another two years later. I am pleased you have made progress on this in your work. We are rapidly approaching 2018 now. Are you confident the funding is going to be in place and that they will be completed on time?
Given the extensive political opposition to a third runway at Heathrow and the inevitable legal and planning challenges that will arise it is almost certain expansion is unlikely to happen in the foreseeable future at Heathrow. In light of these realities do you believe sufficient attention has been given to improving surface transport to ensure that the significant spare air capacity at existing airports in the south east is fully utilised.
I know that borough leaders are aware of this, and perhaps there can be some liaison with the boroughs, as well, through the Association of London Government (ALG).
Given the overwhelming public demand for more community based police patrolling on foot, will the step-change programme prove sufficient to meet public expectations? .
Has research been undertaken within the MPS to examine if the funding from the Home Office for capital city and security functions fully meets the true cost of providing these services, and if so, what were its conclusions? .
That is very welcome. I think Sir John quite rightly said how important it is that victims continue to receive support. What are we doing to ensure that victims are kept informed of the progress of their case? Hopefully there is a lot of support usually at the beginning and shortly after the incident. It takes quite a long time to go through to judicial disposal. What attention is paid to keeping these victims informed?
Given that those responsible for racist and sexist behaviour in the force have often been responsible for homophobic behaviour as well, can you outline how homophobia is tackled as part of the programme of initiatives that Toby outlined?
What residual powers will be retained by LUL / TfL when the Underground stations are transferred by lease to the private infracos? In particular, will the private infracos be completely free (subject to planning controls) to develop station space above or around station sites commercially for maximum profit? .
