Caroline Pidgeon (AM): I just wanted to pick up a couple of things, following on from Val's question. The issue Val mentions of the seven stabbings, and one stabbing that resulted in somebody tragically dying in parts of Lambeth Kit Malthouse (Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime): Pimlico. What one improvement do you expect to see in London's Fire and Emergency Planning Service by May 1st 2010?

I wanted to pick up on the issue of the budget and ask the Chairman, will you be proposing to the Mayor another rise in LFEPA's take on the precept this year?

OK. I want to go back, Commissioner, to the point about fire safety and fires in London, which you mentioned there. The latest performance figures clearly show that the number of serious fires have been rising over the last year across the capital; we have seen an increase in fires in dwellings by around 7% and an increase in non-domestic fires around 17% which is concerning, given the trends previously. We are now seeing it reversed. What changes are you going to make to respond to this worrying trend?

Why have you offered up more savings for the financial year 2009/10 than the Mayor was seeking in his budget guidance issued earlier this Autumn?
