Navin Shah AM: Commissioner, you described the effectiveness of sprinklers in residential buildings as a no-brainer. What progress has the London Fire Brigade made in promoting sprinklers and progressing the recommendations made in the London Assembly’s report [ Never Again: Sprinklers as the next step in fire safety ] on sprinklers published in March this year [2018]?

Navin Shah AM: I have a quick couple of questions on cladding. Last week we had confirmation that the Government is banning combustible cladding on buildings over 80 metres, which you all very much welcomed. However, the London Fire Brigade in its consultation response said - and again we agree - that this was like treating the symptoms rather than the cure itself. What steps need to be taken towards the cure itself, Commissioner?

    • Meeting date: 02 November 2017
Navin Shah AM: Thank you, Chair. David, this morning in your opening statement you referred to the Olympic Park and particularly the venues that are there. They are becoming a major destination. That is good news and I welcome that. Leaving aside the Stadium, can you tell the Assembly what the medium and long-term financial viability is of the venues within the Park?
  • Chairman's Question to Guests (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Navin Shah
    • Meeting date: 10 February 2016
Navin Shah AM: My question is about the zero carbon homes. When the MALP was first proposed it included new text which outlined how the Mayor was going to achieve zero carbon homes. This has now been removed from the final version. Has the Mayor given up on zero carbon homes entirely?
