  • Bow Roundabout - transparency (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
Ok, I am grateful for that. I take it from your reply that the review will look at whether there are other lessons about the way we respond to anxieties without accident records. I share many of Jenny's [Jones] concerns, although I think we need to be cool and calm about this. If people are to blame, then they need to be held to account for that. But we need to see what happens as the inquiries are concluded. My final bit, though: I have cautiously welcomed the changes so far on the basis that they are temporary and they...
  • Transport for London Business Plan (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 23 May 2012
Darren Johnson (Deputy Chair): Assembly Member Biggs has a point of order. John Biggs (AM): The Chair told us there was a standing order about making assertions for which there was no evidence. Now, the Mayor has at the one time made an assertion for which he has evidence that he can cut council tax. Now he has made another assertion that on fares, he can make no such commitment. There is a fundamental inconsistency, it seems to me, under standing orders. Either one can be said and the other cannot, and either the both can be said or neither...

The success of the Walk on Wednesday incentive campaign is a credit to all those involved in making this happen, with an impressive 218,000 pupils taking part. Please could you provide me with a borough breakdown of participating schools and pupils? I assume this is more tailored to primary schools, but for clarity please could you provide figures broken down into primary and secondary schools?

To help chart the progress towards the target of 100% of London schools with travel plans in 2 years time, will TfL be collating and publishing six monthly milestones? How many primary and secondary schools do you expect to have an approved STP by October 2008?

  • Direct bus from Barking to Queen's Hospital

    • Reference: 2007/0208-1
    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Will TfL review its decision to not provide a direct link between Barking and the Queen's Hospital in Romford? Although direct services exist from other local areas, the busy transport interchange at Barking lacks a direct link to the hospital, with passengers having to change buses and therefore pay two Oyster or cash fares in each direction.
