Yesterday TfL put out a press release where it boasted that there is an extra 19,000m 2 of space in central London for cycling and walking that has been created over the last few weeks, ie I presume there is 19,000m 2 roughly less road space. Many politicians and commentators have portrayed the journey out of lockdown as a trade-off between the economy and health and between lives and livelihoods. Do you agree that this is a false distinction and that there cannot really be a full economic recovery without the public being confident that going about daily life is safe?
