  • Olympic Route Network (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
OK. The other thing around the ORN would be if you can confirm the discussions that you are having with local authorities about the enforcement regime. Will that be handed over to LOCOG or will the lead on the enforcement of the ORN rest with local authorities?
  • Budget and Venues Update (Supplementary) [24]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 November 2007
Can I just firstly thank Peter for his interest in my constituents and ask David [Higgins], would he agree with me that there are clear issues that we have to stay on top of. For instance, the travellers have still got to be dealt with. I have seen information that is suggesting that monitoring is going on. What I am not seeing is any written evidence about that, so I think what you could do, certainly to help Peter, myself and others, is to actually release information about the monitoring. I think that would help the different bodies interested in...
  • Legacy Master plan for the Olympic Park (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 November 2007
I have a couple of questions and I will start with Manny [Lewis]. You spoke about having achieved over 800 training courses to date in construction. Are you monitoring in terms of diversity ethnicity and location? If you are, can you share that information so that we can be assured that the contract that you have made with the local community and with Londoners that they will be accessing these jobs, especially in the construction industry, is being fulfilled? Second, can you tell me any more about the construction site which I have been championing to get established within Leyton...
  • Legacy Master plan for the Olympic Park (Supplementary) [5]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 November 2007
OK. Can I just go back to Hackney. Hackney Wick station is the closest station to the future employment use in that location. However there are currently no plans to provide a direct pedestrian link. Don't you think it will be a missed opportunity if we can't get a direct link from Hackney Wick to the Olympic Park? I do not understand why this is missing and there has been pressure put but we can't seem to get any answer.
  • Procurement (Supplementary) [12]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 14 June 2006
Can I just take you back? I was in here when we were all happy on the day of the bid. Clearly, at the heart of this bid was the benefit for East London and we have been joined by the stars of the future from East London. (Brian Coleman (Chairman): I think you are referring to Malmesbury Primary School from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, who arrived just too late to see the earlier outburst which would have fitted very well, I suspect, with a primary school class.) My question relates to them, David. I am sure if...
  • Progress Update (Supplementary) [15]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 14 June 2006
Due to the positive nature of those changes, it is very well to communicate them [but] can you again assure us about your communication strategy briefly, should there be any changes which may arise because of some negative impact that you find?
  • Progress Update (Supplementary) [17]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 14 June 2006
Welcome David. I speak as the Assembly Member for Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest. My question follows on from what you just said about the changes to the Masterplan. Thank you for communicating those changes in the quick and efficient way that you did. Can you assure us that final is final and that we can now settle down and work to the changes that we now know of?
  • Tendering for contracts (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 07 December 2005
Chair, could I just come back and say I do want your firm commitment to the extent where, will you inform us if you could utilise the TfL model and I only say that because it is in our legal structure and whenever we look abroad and we are looking to bring stuff back, then it just does not fit as well as something that we have developed. That is the cast-iron assurance that I am seeking.
  • Tendering for contracts (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 07 December 2005
Can I stay with tendering and contracts? Marc talked about Atlanta, so I want to actually direct my question to Manny (Lewis) and Mary Reilly because what I want is absolutely the buying from the both of you. We have got local good practice. Can I just refer you to the TfL terms to their contract? I will just read here that when they sent out invitation to tender for the development of the East London Line, that had within it terms that ensured fair opportunity for smaller suppliers, particularly of those led by BME groups and women, whom we...
  • Recent changes at the LDA (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 17 March 2004
Can I just go back to the area of questioning that my colleague touched on about the LDA's support of London's black and minority ethnic communities? Firstly, would you agree with me that sometimes the LDA can be seen to be defensive about the support of this key community? I would like to say to you that there is absolutely no need to be defensive, because it is, if you like, linked to your answer to the last question. These are communities finding themselves in need, but at the same time, they have the skills and the city has the...
