  • Contingency (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 25 April 2007
Finally, given that you have milestones and key milestones and a set date to achieve it, would it not have been better to have set up bonus payments rather than contingency sums, given that is going to be the name of the game - getting to key stages at key times at critical points? • Contingency (Supplementary) [5]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 25 April 2007
Sir Roy, if we accept the Government figures as the upper limits to the expenditure on the Olympics, I think the key thing is the management of the contingencies. I am worried that we find ourselves in contracts with contractors who then spend most of their time making claims for the contingencies. They are very generous; about 60% of the build costs. • Cemetery Space in London

    • Reference: 2004/1098
    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 15 September 2004
While the government is seeking long terms solutions to the on going demand for new cemetery space in London what action is the Mayor take in the short term and in particular what action is he taking with local authorities? The report 'Planning for Burial Space in London' concludes that the only alternative to re-use is increasing land shortages and dereliction. The report goes on to say that the government needs to bring forward changes in legislation for London as soon as possible in order to achieve a number of things including stopping 'the growth in the number of people...
