In July last year [2016] the Mayor said, quote: “I have been clear that I would like to understand whether HS2 could terminate at Old Oak on a temporary basis to minimise disruption and allow for a better overall solution for Euston Station. Just going on from John's [Biggs] friendly question, you outlined many, many priorities for next year and, if anything, the first observation is maybe there are too many. Can you possibly lose focus as a result and what kind of managerial systems have you got to make sure that you can cover all the ground? For example, the two additional ones that I had were implementing the Mayor's Housing Strategy and the sporting provision and the youth service. Now those are clearly new areas on top of your Olympic responsibilities, as well as the climate change work.
