Tony Devenish AM: At the Regeneration Committee a couple of years ago we talked about estates strategy and, when we asked about the carbon footprint of the strategy, we were met by silence. I do remember the meeting very clearly. Would you say you are leading on carbon matters that have been mentioned by Assembly Member Polanski in terms of the estate and not the appliances of the LFB? To the Deputy Mayor, would you be up to a pilot of possibly merging an LAS and an LFB station and making it a zero-carbon best-in-practice project?

What role will the LDA play in the public consultation on the proposed River Crossings? How will those campaigning against the proposed river crossings be involved in the consultation process? Will the consultation look at any alternative transport packages to regenerate the area? .

The proposed River crossings and a number of the sites they seek to open up are in areas at risk from flooding, according to Environment Agency data. Can the chair confirm that the Environment Agency has advised against development along much of the Thames Gateway because of the flood risk? Can the chair publish the advice the LDA has received from the Environment Agency on the flood risk in the Thames Gateway? In particular what will the LDA be doing to ensure that businesses and industry setting up on LDA land or with LDA finance are not prone to flooding...

But given that so much of the case for the river crossings has rested on the supposed regeneration benefits there is obviously a leadership role for the LDA in terms of the consultation around that as well, rather than just say it is a transport issue which is in TfL's department.
