In fact, the figures were very damning and not acceptable in any situation. Since 2009/10, the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority has had to make cuts of £105.8 million and a further £50 million has been taken from the LFEPA reserves. Mayor John Biggs AM: Thank you very much for your earlier answers. I obviously have a parochial interest as the Assembly Member for East London. Particularly Newham but also Tower Hamlets have been adversely affected by the closure of fire stations and the loss of appliances. In your current proposals, potentially we lose another three appliances in Poplar, Plaistow and Stratford and a fourth nearby in Shoreditch.
