In their submission to the US Transportation Department on an American Airlines / BA tie up, British Airways state that other competing European airports have diverted traffic away from Heathrow over recent years. They state ' these changes have reduced the relative competitive significance both of London as a European hub, and of American and British Airways at Heathrow'. Thank you very much, Mr Barlow. Actually I am not terribly encouraged at all. Although the public probably won't even attend, as we all know what happens when we do open public bodies to public attendance, the public would merely like to know that they can come if they wish to come and they probably wouldn't even disturb you. So I'm not sure that there is anything to be frightened of in opening the thing up to the public. I'm heartened to hear that. I just would hope that we have a fairly swift time-scale on it. GLA members are entitled to receive papers as they come out, which would be a good starting point. Then we can keep an eye on things too.

It would be very useful if you could provide me with the details about how many were sold, but I wonder how many compulsory purchase orders you have issued and why you have done that?
