    Murad Qureshi AM: Sorry. Thank you very much, Madam Chair. Can I just move the debate into another area, Harvey? I have heard what the Mayor’s [Chief Economic] Advisor, Gerard Lyons, has to say about the impact that the UK exiting the European Union (EU) will have on London’s economy. Could you tell me what you think the impact will be on key economic clusters like the financial services and medical services that we provide in London?

    Thank you for your verbal report. No doubt, there will be some follow-up from others who are on the MPA about clarifications for your conversations with the Home Secretary, and the West London Tram will be brought up later on in subsequent questions. The thing I wanted to do was actually just congratulate GLA Events and Media team for doing a very good event on Sunday at Trafalgar Square.

    I was just wondering what the impact of the minimum wage has been in London in reducing relative poverty. Clearly, it affects those in employment, rather than those outside it, but I would like some idea of what the experts feel has been the impact.

    I understand that there should be a London rate, and I think there has been work done on that, on the living wage. Coming back to Kate (Green)'s point that tax credits are more significant, one of the experiences I have come across is that the bureaucracy of targeted financial programmes can be such that it actually puts off a lot of people from sitting down and putting in the applications that they are perfectly entitled to make. I don't know if you have got any thoughts on that, and how that can be cleared up so that it's a...
