    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
The 155 bus route parallels the heavily overcrowded Northern Line from Tooting Broadway to Elephant & Castle. When did TfL last carry out a passenger count on the 155? What were the findings?
  • Impact of Crossrail on South London rail projects

    • Reference: 2007/0199-1
    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
A number of my constitutions have raised concerns that the decision to give Crossrail the go ahead may have had an impact on the funding and expected implementation dates for South London transport projects such as the Cross River Tram, the second phase of the East London Line extension and the Croydon Tramlink extensions. Please could you detail what funding was allocated and the anticipated timescales for these two project before Crossrail was given the green light and now?
  • Walworth Road Project (1)

    • Reference: 2007/0201-1
    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Residents in Dulwich, Camberwell and Walworth are very unhappy about the level of delays being caused to bus journeys due to the road works on the Walworth Road. What is the current average delay to peak time buses on the Walworth Road? What is TfL doing to ensure that Southwark Council minimises these delays?
  • Walworth Road Project (2)

    • Reference: 2007/0202-1
    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007

  • Walworth Road Project (3)

    • Reference: 2007/0203-1
    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
The Walworth Road project is part funded by TfL and has received its approval. I have received complaints from blind and partially sighted residents who tell me that in some areas where the road has been raised to the same level as the pavement, Southwark Council has not laid tactile paving to enable them to differentiate between the pavement and the road. What is TfL doing to ensure that this scheme does comply with DfT accessibility standards?
  • Walworth Road Project (4)

    • Reference: 2007/0204-1
    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
The Walworth Road project is part funded by TfL and has received its approval. Many residents are extremely sceptical that the completed scheme will be an improvement. They are worried about the lack of barriers to prevent small children running into the road, that the reduction in the number of traffic lights will make it difficult to cross the road safely and that bus journey times will increase substantially due to the removal of the bus lanes. How will TfL access the success or failure of this scheme?
  • Service Standards for Responses to Enquiries

    • Reference: 2007/0205-1
    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Most Local Authorities have adopted a service standard of responding to enquiries within 10 working days. When it is not possible to respond fully within this timeframe they give reasons and a target response date. In recent months a number of my enquiries have taken two months or more to receive a response with no explanation for the delay. Will TfL follow the example of local authorities and adopt a 10 working days standard for response to enquiries?
  • Light Trams

    • Reference: 2007/0206-1
    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Why do you oppose light trams?

    • Reference: 2007/0207-1
    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
I have read in the press, and heard directly from constituents, that some drivers are letting passengers with insufficient funds on their Oyster cards board the bus. Are drivers expected in any way to regulate the use of tickets on their buses?
  • Direct bus from Barking to Queen's Hospital

    • Reference: 2007/0208-1
    • Question by: John Biggs
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Will TfL review its decision to not provide a direct link between Barking and the Queen's Hospital in Romford? Although direct services exist from other local areas, the busy transport interchange at Barking lacks a direct link to the hospital, with passengers having to change buses and therefore pay two Oyster or cash fares in each direction.
