  • Out Dated Working Practices (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Louise Bloom
    • Meeting date: 10 October 2001
I wanted to pick up on the working practices matters that have already been raised and make two points really, the first of which is I think that maybe some people don't actually realise how tied in we are to the national agreements on these workings practices. Do you feel that the Fire Executive at the LGA is the best way to pursue some of the frankly dodgy practices that are around? Are other fire authorities making similar moves through the LGA, perhaps you could tell us? It amazes me how the fire service has this down the line division...

I was approached by several, including my own borough of Kingston, who are currently attempting to put together their own waste minimisation strategy. They have found it completely impossible to do so, with all the delays we have had. Today we are told that it will be published on Tuesday, and I am sure they will be very grateful; but did you not take account of the...

    • Question by: Louise Bloom
    • Meeting date: 18 July 2001
That is not the information I had, but I accept what you are saying. Will you now make sure that the boroughs are all fully aware of what is going on, and take their comments on board?
