    In 2005-06 the two highest salaries paid by the LDA were one salary in the range £190-200k and one salary in the range £130-£140k. In 2006-07 the LDA paid two salaries in the range £210-£220k. Which posts attracted these salaries, and how do you justify increases of approximately 10% and 60% respectively in the two highest salaries at a time when average pay increases were closer to 3%?

    Dee (Doocey, AM) earlier mentioned the fact that at Atlanta 40% of the contracts went to SMEs but part of the reason for that is they do not have the EU Public Procurement Directives. The Forum of Private Business (FPB) and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) among others have all said that the EU Public Procurement Directives are one of the biggest barriers to entry by SMEs to such events as Olympics.
