The problem is when the Chair of the Federation is saying what he says, which is so seriously strong when he says that it is being reported it is far below what really happens, underplayed for political reasons, you can play with statistics in that sense and the public does not feel that we have gotten on top of it. I think that independent statistics surely are the answer.

No doubt you are aware of the complaints about the Met's new in-house magazine, 'The Sharp End'. It has been described by the Metropolitan Police Federation as patronising, insulting and a huge waste of money. Have you read it, and if so, do you agree?

What is the Met doing to address brutally violent attacks against women in London, both in their homes and on our streets? Why has the conviction rate for rape fallen from 24% to 6%, when the numbers of reported rapes have trebled in the last decade?
