    Mr Lewis, I think you should receive credit, all of us in public life should receive credit, but perhaps you would address Mr Tuffrey's point about the red spots rather than the things that you want to receive credit on.

(p xxxiii) Do you believe this judgement should apply to the Mayor and Assembly members and, if so, what can be done to remedy our lack of qualification? (A New London, 1992) .

    Lord Rogers, you are on a 12-month contract for a fee of, I believe, £130,000. Do you think that is value for money for Londoners?

    I think the problem is the GLA does not think it is worth it but the Mayor thinks it is. It does seem extraordinary. Do you believe in civic duty, Lord Rogers?
