  • Leveson Inquiry

    • Reference: 2012/0057-2
    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 29 November 2012
Perhaps I can start with the Commissioner because we are meeting on the day that Lord Justice Leveson is to announce the results of his inquiry and recommendations. No doubt there will be recommendations with regards to the police as well. I just wondered if you could take a couple of minutes just to explain whether you have actually seen the report, know what the recommendations are and how the police are going to respond to it.
  • Training

    • Reference: 2012/0066-2
    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 29 November 2012
Can I just pick up some of the training issues then. I am very pleased you said you welcomed outside providers perhaps that deal with violence against women and girls to come in and do some training, because that is one of the issues that was raised with us from those support groups. I understand that particularly with you recruiting more PCs, part of your frontline training is now going to be computer based. How do you ensure the quality of that and the quality of response to vulnerable victims with that computer-based training?
  • Concern (Supplementary) [19]

    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
So, can I ask, one of the concerns, particularly in the recent McNulty Report, was around the ability to close category E ticket offices, which are the smaller ticket offices, but which offer vital assistance to commuters, particularly in my constituency, for example. In that franchise that is coming up in the autumn, the Great Northern, part of Thameslink franchise now, I have Grange Park and Bowes Park that are actually grade E. Are you having an influence in that and can I ask you today, can you ask for conditions for those ticket offices to remain open?
  • Public disorder incidents in London (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 07 September 2011
Thank you. On behalf of our Group, I also thank the many officers for the bravery that they showed over the August period. As the Assembly Member for Tottenham, I think it would remiss of me if I did not ask some questions about what you, Tim, yesterday referred to the House of Commons Select Committee as 'the initial incident', and this was certainly to do with some of the questions that came out of the Select Committee yesterday. You stated yesterday that the response to the shooting of Mark Duggan could have been handled differently, and you referred to...

  • Great Cambridge Road Underpass

    • Reference: 2007/0219-1
    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Is TfL willing to visit the pedestrian underpass at the Great Cambridge Road (A10) and the junction of the North Circular to see at first hand the desperate need for CCTV cameras? These cameras need to be installed as a matter of urgency - this is an extremely dangerous and unpleasant area and one which the local safer neighbourhood team have highlighted as needing urgent attention.
