    I do not think Mrs Howlett is suggesting that it did come from you. She is just asking if there is any truth in it?

    In his remarks to the Idaho Statesman, Jack Lemley said that political disputes will make the Olympics come in late and over budget. Is he telling the truth, or is he deliberately trying to mislead?

    Mr Lemley was also concerned about soaring costs. Given that you are going to the Treasury to ask for extra money for the regeneration that was promised, why was the Olympic Delivery Authority not upfront about the real cost of the promised legacy from the outset?

    Mr Lemley also predicted that, despite your assurances, Games venues will not be delivered on schedule. Please can you confirm the date on which construction work on the stadium, the aquatic centre and the Olympic village will be completed?

    In your work with Mark Fisher you stated: "...councillors are ill-qualified to judge complex planning issues and rarely have the professional back-up they need." (p xxxiii) Do you believe this judgement should apply to the Mayor and Assembly members and, if so, what can be done to remedy our lack of qualification? (A New London, 1992) .

    Lord Rogers, you are on a 12-month contract for a fee of, I believe, £130,000. Do you think that is value for money for Londoners?

    I think the problem is the GLA does not think it is worth it but the Mayor thinks it is. It does seem extraordinary. Do you believe in civic duty, Lord Rogers?
