  • Risks (Supplementary) [5]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 21 October 2009
I have two questions. I think one is for Seb because I know that he has given this commitment to young people. Is there a risk that young people will be squeezed out? It is linked to the ticketing issue. I am just wanting assurance from you, yet again, that there is a plan and that we would never ever sit in our living rooms and see empty seats in any stadia, given that we have got millions of young people in London who could be there taking up those seats. That is, if you like, the back up, but...
  • Domestic Violence (Supplementary) [8]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 December 2003
I thank Jenny for putting this question on the agenda. I know of her involvement given that she was at the launch on 20 November of the Mayor's second annual report of the pan-London Domestic Violence Forum. Will you be giving your commitment to lead the rest of the service nationally to ensure this matter stays at the top of the policing agenda because they are the first point of call for people in distress?
  • Paying for Local Policing (Supplementary) [15]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 10 December 2003
We spend so much time hearing about the wonders of New York policing. Sir John, I have to say that you are on record as being supportive of New York policing, but their model is this model. It seems to me it is the model that many prospective Mayoral candidates may aspire to. In fact, Mr Norris is on record as saying that he would like part-time control of the MPA, he would like to appoint a director of crime, he would like to review the performance of borough commanders, and he would like to seek the right to appoint...
