  • Concern (Supplementary) [26]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
Thank you; that is one down. Now, can I just say to you that the recent YouGov survey commissioned by End Violence Against Women Campaign showed that almost a third of respondents, women aged 18-24, have experienced unwanted sexual attention on London's public transport. So, is it not time for TfL to commit to a zero tolerance sexual harassment awareness campaign, similar to the one run in New York; I do not know if the Mayor saw the campaign ads while he was visiting there recently, but those ads are quite clear. They say, 'Sexual harassment is not acceptable, will...
  • Concern (Supplementary) [34]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
Yes, thank you, Chair. My questions of concern are about sexual harassment on London transport and they are to the Commissioner. Peter, I am just looking for four yeses here, so I hope we can agree. Can I just start by saying, I know that you will agree with me, that sexual harassment on London's transport system has been a matter of concern. I say that because I have been working with your officers on this matter since 2009. Can you confirm that TfL remains committed to a zero tolerance approach and that TfL has a duty to ensure that...
  • Bow Roundabout - transparency (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
Assembly Member Jones, no. Sorry, Mr Mayor. You gave a detailed answer to the first question, which was great. You have had now enough time on this, so I want to move on. I just want to find the Standing Order that gives us the gap for the Commissioner who seemed to want to make a statement to come in. There is no Standing Order except that apparently I can make a ruling, so can I just ask the Commissioner if he just wanted to make a statement? He was giving an indication that he wanted to make a statement...

  • ELLX Phase 2

    • Reference: 2007/0238-1
    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Although on the opposite side of the River from my constituency, many of my constituents especially in Hackney have no less an interest in the final completion of the East London Line Extensions (ELLX) package and the creation of an Outer Circle rail link around Inner London. For Hackney it will mean a one-third increase in train service frequency to and from Dalston Junction and our other three new stations, as well as a wider choice of destinations and connections in south London. What are the current prospects for securing the estimated £100 million for London Rail to be able...

    • Question by: Jennette Arnold OBE
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Do you agree that the recent approval of the Crossrail scheme, creating, as it does, spare capacity on the existing tracks between Stratford and Liverpool Street, presents an opportunity to satisfy both the demand for additional trains to and from Stansted Airport and the aspirations of Chingford and Walthamstow residents for a direct rail service to Stratford?
