  • LFEPA Cuts and the Safety of Londoners (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 02 December 2015
Roger Evans AM: If you consider the 13 appliances that you are considering taking away plus the ones that were removed before, I believe the saving is around £25 million. If by some miracle you were to have £25 million returned to your budget, Commissioner, would you ideally spend it on putting those appliances back or would you have other priorities that you think would keep London safer?
  • LFEPA Cuts and the Safety of Londoners (Supplementary) [5]

    • Question by: James Cleverly
    • Meeting date: 02 December 2015
James Cleverly AM MP: I am happy for either the Commissioner or the Chairman to answer this. When the traditional disposition of London’s fire stations was brought about, I suppose, with the early 20th century expansion, is it fair to say that fire and fire risk was the single biggest driving factor in the equipment disposition of fire stations and fire appliances?
  • Impact of climate change on your work (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 02 December 2015
Roger Evans AM: I just wanted to add my support to Jenny’s suggestion that fire prevention people might look at flood prevention as well. I wondered if there was also a role for them to do some joint working with the MPS on crime prevention because at the moment we have fire prevention people who go out and tell people largely to provide more means of exit and entrance from their properties and then crime prevention people who go around and tell them to lock them up. Might it not be better if the two services worked together and more...
  • New Technology (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Andrew Boff
    • Meeting date: 02 December 2015
Andrew Boff AM: On the subject of safety, on 25 November 2015 there was a fire at a tyre shop in Walpole Road, N17. This shop has now reopened. Is it standard practice for there to be an investigation or an inspection subsequent to an incident and could you write to me and say whether or not there has been an inspection of these particular premises? The reason I chase this with you is that there have been some concerns from local residents for a considerable period but they do not seem to be getting any joy from Haringey Council...
  • Concern (Supplementary) [30]

    • Question by: Andrew Boff
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
I would be very interested, Mr Hendy, to see the results of that study. Just anecdotally, tipper-truck drivers do seem to drive incredibly fast and just from my observation, as somebody who did cycle in this morning, and cycles in to City Hall most days, it desperately needs attention, because there is something desperately wrong with the way in which those vehicles are used on the roads of London.
  • Performance of London Underground (Supplementary) [8]

    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
Boris, there is some work going on on the District line at the moment to improve the service, which we are all very pleased about. This I think is really a question for the Commissioner. The work that is going on at the depot in Upminster is proving to be more disruptive to neighbours than they were told it would be, with noise and working for longer hours than they were told would take place, and I think what can fairly be described as an unhelpful attitude from some of the staff in the depot when the neighbours go around...
  • Government Delivery of Mayoral Policies (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Richard Tracey
    • Meeting date: 20 June 2012
You have just said one significant thing that I have not heard before and that is that the Commissioner himself is supportive of this line of policy. Perhaps we could have it on the record from Peter Hendy just how supportive he has because in our approaches to Government, whether it be the Prime Minister or other Cabinet Ministers, what the Commissioner for TfL might say about it would be rather important, I believe.
  • PPP/Metronet

    • Reference: 2007/0251-1
    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Will the Commissioner make a statement on TfL's bid on Metronet?
  • Fare Evasion

    • Reference: 2007/0252-1
    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Could the Commissioner comment on whether he feels Transport for London is doing enough to reduce fare evasion on London's buses?
  • TfL Financial Statements

    • Reference: 2007/0253-1
    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 05 December 2007
Does the Commissioner believe that the Mayor is acting honestly in trumpeting the amount of money that TfL has given to London boroughs this year when, for the second year running, London boroughs have received a real terms cut in the amount of money Transport for London are providing them for improving the capital's roads and footpaths?
