What are the challenges facing London’s businesses and the capital’s economic recovery?

Krupesh Hirani AM: My first question is to Richard. One of the important sectors in London’s economy is the construction sector. It is clear from supply shortages of construction materials since Brexit and also the pandemic, as well as increasing costs, that this will leave an impact on not just the Mayor’s, but also councils up and down the country’s ability to carry on delivering affordable housing in their areas. How important is building affordable housing to London’s economic recovery and London’s businesses?

Andrew Boff AM: Mr Agrawal, you mentioned earlier about how the roads were being changed in order to accommodate cyclists and pedestrians. Will the Mayor be taking further into account the interests of disabled people? These changes have actually negatively affected many disabled people, but they have not had the opportunity to comment on them. Can you assure me that things will change in the future, and that disabled people will be fully consulted when changes in the road network are considered?
