  • Meetings with the Prime Minister

    Following Angie Bray's question 1308/2003 to the Mayor at MQT on 16 July asking which ministers the Mayor has met with since his election, we have gone through the Mayor's monthly reoprts to the Assembly as suggested in the Mayor's answer. Through this process, we have not found any meetings between the Mayor and the Prime Minister. Please can you confirm if it is correct that the Mayor has not met with the Prime Minister since the Mayor's election? If this is not true, please can you detail any meetings that have occurred. .

    In a recent New York Times article it was pointed out that communities are becoming more racially segregated. One of your fellow Mayoral Advisers has called for racially segregated schools. How can the London Plan contribute to developing London as a truly multi-cultural, multi-racial city rather than a patchwork quilt of ethnic enclaves? .

    If I can explain my prejudice in terms of this. First of all the Georgian density, are people talking about density in Georgian times with all those servants crammed into the cellars or are they talking about Georgian density now? But my real prejudice is that the real high densities I have seen are system-built, architect-designed estates, where certain categories of people were ghettoised, and are still ghettoised, in buildings, which when people have got a choice, they get out of as rapidly as possible.
