    Siân Berry AM: I would like to start with the Commissioner. On the TfL deal with the Government, one key part of that is the requirement to increase our fares in London by retail price index (RPI) plus 1%. That comes out at 4.8% this year, based on the figure for RPI that came out in July. Are you comfortable that a nurse in zone 6 is going to face an increase in the cost of travel on TfL services of as much as £20 a month according to this arrangement?

TfL is required to review service levels on London buses, London Underground, and TfL, this month as you know. Does it make sense to review them just six weeks after the easing of restrictions on 19 July?

    Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM: My question is to the Mayor. I would like to ask about the recovery from the pandemic, which should include cycling. On 4 August [2021], Dr Marta Krawiec was killed cycling to work at Holborn Gyratory. There have been eight cyclists killed there since 2008; four at the junction of Southampton Row and Theobalds Road. I have seen your recent reply to Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals about this where you stated: “TfL has already delivered funding for short-term interim measures and will support Camden to deliver these as quickly as possible.” Can you today provide...

    Sakina Sheikh AM: Good morning, Mr Mayor. I will be addressing my question to you. My question is concerning creating financial sustainability in TfL by 2023. TfL has reduced its funding requirement for the financial year from £2.7 billion identified in the March 2021 budget down to £1.9 billion in the July revised budget. Can you explain what you have done to create this £800 million saving and whether you are still on course to becoming financially sustainable by April 2023?

It is relating back to that expanding ULEZ zone, which I accept has the potential to have a real impact on air quality, but also some impact on the least well-off.     Léonie Cooper AM: Good morning, Mr Mayor. We have just been talking about the central ULEZ and some of the issues relating to it. Obviously one of the things that it has done is contributed to a 44% reduction in roadside NO2 levels, which is great. However, that is not good enough, as you have repeatedly said, and many of us agree, given the air quality problems in London. Just set out for us exactly, in advance of the 21 October expansion, what the effect of that expansion is going to be on air quality within the new expanded boundary?

    Caroline Russell AM: Mr Mayor, I want to focus on the challenge of Vision Zero. Up to the end of July, sadly, 34 people have died on London’s roads this year. In this last month, two deaths have stood out in the media: Dr Marta Krawiec, a 41-year-old children’s doctor, who died at Holborn as she cycled to work, and Melissa Burr, who was 32 and died walking at Victoria Bus Station.
