Can you please supply a summary of the impact of the 2012 Olympics on the MPS Budget between now and 2013? There have been suggestions that some aspects of security in the Budget for 2012 are not allowed for in either the MPS Budget or the revised 2012 Budget. Please can you state what is being done to ensure that London council tax payers will not be required to fund this expenditure.

How much has the MPS spent on 'carbon offsetting' between 2004 and 2007, and is it not absurd that the EU will in future force us to pay VAT on these additional costs to the taxpayer?

Policing at Notting Hill Carnival was successful but there remain flashpoints (in particular at the end of the final day). Having been present and witnessed some of these difficulties at first hand, I can confirm that there is general agreement that the MPS handled them well, and that earlier intelligence-led operations and planning decisions had a very positive impact, but is there anything further that can be done to try and prevent the Monday problems?

One London is concerned that the growth in the numbers of Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) could at some point mask moves to reduce numbers of actual police officers. Can the Commissioner give his assurances that he will oppose any move to reduce officer numbers?

With the issues of policing for Heathrow and City Airport, and the concerns about the deal with the British Airports Authority (BAA) on costs, could the Commissioner kindly update us on what is happening and where the negotiations are? Is there any truth in press rumours that BAA have failed to respond or to attend meetings about the issue? Are you confident that the MPS/MPA have always negotiated the best arrangement with BAA?

Safety campaigners claim that thousands of immigrants and asylum seekers legally allowed to drive on our roads would be incapable of passing a British driving test, and that in many countries - including those in the EU - corruption means that valid driving licences can be bought without passing any test. From next year two new countries, Bulgaria and Roumania, join the EU and these are alleged to be among the most corrupt in this regard.
