  • Question and Answer Session: London Legacy Development Corporation (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Caroline Pidgeon
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2023
Caroline Pidgeon MBE AM: I do not mind which person would like to answer. It might be we start with Lyn and move over to Lord Hendy. The transformation of the Olympic Park and Stratford is something to celebrate. It is fantastic. I want to pick up about transport today, surprise, surprise. Stratford Station is estimated to be the seventh busiest Network Rail station in the UK and one of the busiest stations on the TfL network. It is straining to cope with demand, a fragmented layout and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in the middle causing a huge bottleneck...
  • Question and Answer Session: London Legacy Development Corporation (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Sakina Sheikh
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2023
Sakina Sheikh AM: Good morning, Lyn. Good morning, Lord Hendy. It is great to see you both. Lyn, recently you came - it feels like a long time ago now - in November [2022] to the Planning and Regeneration Committee and we had some really interesting conversations about the LLDC and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC). I just wanted to go back to some of what was talked about and draw out some of the themes. One of the things that you said through the conversation was that displacement of people in regeneration schemes is inevitable...
  • Question and Answer Session: London Legacy Development Corporation (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Siân Berry
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2023
Siân Berry AM: Thank you very much, Chair. My question is to Lyn to begin with. I want to ask about the issue with changing the housing tenures in planning applications. One of the residents has raised concerns with me about developers applying to change the planning permission they have for residential development into student accommodation. It is plot N16 in East Village. It is Get Living. They plan to replace 188 homes with 520 student beds. Included in those 188 homes in the existing planning application, we would lose 31 three-bedroom family homes. Also, you have loads of student...
  • Question and Answer Session: London Legacy Development Corporation (Supplementary) [5]

    • Question by: Sem Moema
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2023
Sem Moema AM: Thank you, Chair. Good morning to both of you. Assembly Member Berry has covered much of the issues that I wanted to ask you about, the fixed estate charge, apart from saying that I would welcome the suggestion she has made to have that review and, post powers being returned to the local authorities, that there is a mechanism in place to make sure that is ongoing and that we do not get into a situation where the fixed estate charge becomes a second service charge, which makes it unaffordable for people to live on the Park...
  • Question and Answer Session: London Legacy Development Corporation (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Susan Hall
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2023
Susan Hall AM: Thank you. I will be very brief. Lyn, at the December [2022] Budget and Performance [Committee] meeting, I asked you whether you would ask the Mayor to get more involved in the search for a Stadium sponsor. What progress have you made on that?
  • Question and Answer Session: London Legacy Development Corporation (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Leonie Cooper
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2023
Léonie Cooper AM: Good morning, Lyn. Good morning, Peter. I wanted to ask you something about net zero at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. How are discussions with the Greater London Authority (GLA) progressing on how to fund the net zero measures that were identified in the climate budgeting process?

  • Question and Answer Session: London Legacy Development Corporation (Supplementary) [9]

    • Question by: Lord Bailey of Paddington
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2023
Shaun Bailey AM: Good morning to both of our guests. Can I start with you, Lord Hendy. On 7 March [2023] you announced a consultation on reducing the size of LLDC from December 2024. It was also confirmed that LLDC would maintain its status with a reconstituted board and a governance structure and a return of planning powers to the constituent boroughs. What were the objectives behind these changes?
