    A total of 82 pools with diving boards have been closed in the capital in the past 10 years. The National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace, the only pool with a ten-metre board and the only working eight-lane 50m-competition pool inside the M25, was recently closed after asbestos was found in the ceiling. How are aspiring Olympians from London supposed to prepare for the 2012 games when adequate facilities are evidently lacking in our City?

    In last year's playing fields report, the Environment Committee recommended that the local sporting community should be represented on the London Parks and Green Spaces Forum (LPGSF)? We argued that this would form the best defence against the loss pf playing fields. Are local sporting communities now represented on the (LPGSF). If not, will you use your influence to ensure that the voice of local community is being heard on this forum?
