I think it is a bit rich coming from my colleague, Mr Hulme Cross, given that he actually voted for the closure of the fire station on LFEPA so there are a bit of crocodile tears going on there I suspect, whereas I, as the local Assembly Member for the constituency, have at all time reflected my concerns about this closure. Well I am disappointed then. My concern is that there are as large number of flats, new places being opened in the area; Abbey National, Marks & Spencer and all the rest of them are turning into flats. Why is there a gap in the "rolling replacement " programme between May 2004 and August 2006 when no new vehicles will be supplied? What assurances can you give that LFEPA will be able to negotiate and accelerate the appliance replacement programme to shorten this 14 month gap with Asset Co? .
