Please can the Mayor explain why he failed to respond within the statutory deadline to the following question I asked at the November MQT? (2658/2007: What is the justification for paying the Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq £4500 for her recent appearance at a GLA event?)
When I predicted in 2005 that the 2012 Olympics would cost taxpayers £10 billion, you suggested that I should not be unpatriotic and should support the bid. After Tessa Jowell's confirmation almost 2 years later of a figure of £9.3 billion, you told me that the contingency was very large and that the bill would never reach that. Now the government is suggesting that the contingency could indeed be used. Would it not be sensible to scrap some proposed Olympic venues and use existing ones in order to remain within the existing budget?
To what degree has the change in the structure of fines and penalties in February 2007 impacted on Congestion Charge revenues and how much remains uncollected or written off?
Are you satisfied that the proposed use of tasers by the MPS as part of a pilot passes the test of proper training, and deals adequately with reservations expressed by organisations in the UK, US and Canada?
The amount of spoil generated by the tunnelling for Crossrail is estimated at 8.5 million tonnes. If that goes to landfill, it would cost £250 per tonne, under European Union legislation. How do you intend to dispose of this spoil?
The problem with that one, Mr Mayor, is that going to Paris or Brussels, you can fly there for £50, and if you take Eurostar it costs you over double that to go just one way.
