    That is an interesting answer. MI5, as you said, have about 2,000 people under surveillance, and they estimate that about 4,000 British nationals have gone to Pakistan or Afghanistan, to training camps there, and come back into Britain.

    On the Today Programme on June 30 the Mayor stated: 'What we do know in this city is that Muslims are more likely to be law abiding than non Muslims, Muslims are less likely to support the use of violence to achieve political ends than non Muslims.' Is this assertion based on any research, and if so, please can the Mayor supply the details.

    I am sympathetic to the concerns you raise but the answer is not to allow parking that could cause congestion, but to encourage a change in passenger expectations so that they make arrangements to pay for their trips rather than expecting illegal parking by the taxi driver. TfL's Public Carriage Office is currently piloting notices in taxis asking passengers to tell the driver in advance if they need to visit an ATM to pay their fare. The disruption caused by an extended vehicle stop would be the same regardless of whether it is caused by a taxi or private motorist...
