    What residual powers will be retained by LUL / TfL when the Underground stations are transferred by lease to the private infracos? In particular, will the private infracos be completely free (subject to planning controls) to develop station space above or around station sites commercially for maximum profit? .

    Moving on from that, it is the perception and how that relates to your indicators. You have already indicated there is a little bit of a discrepancy there. For example, the public is not very comfortable in terms of the perceived safety of Underground stations. If you look at the statistics, it does not look so bad. Where are you with that? How do you think we can make the perception of safety on the Underground work?

    Could I turn attention to the protection masters, a group of workers who do not work for LUL particularly but are subcontracted in a most peculiar way. They have no option but to work for one organisation, yet they do not know whether they will be working on any given day. Their terms and conditions seem pretty appalling, but the only thing they can do is work indirectly for you. Have you made it your business to check out the terms and conditions of subcontractors?     I am bothered by Camden, where it is opposed by practically everybody including the Civic Society, the Architects' Forum, and all the residents and businesses there. We are just worried that we will see these types of corporate, soulless developments all over London, with the destruction of the local community.
