    Can you confirm newspaper reports that some police recruits are taking as long as 33 weeks to complete 18 week basic training courses because of a lack of available training places? If this is true, can you say whether or not you think this is an acceptable situation, explain how this situation arose and outline any plans that exist to remedy it? .

    Do you think that some of the targets set out in the `MPA Policing Plan" reflect too much of a `one-size-fits all approach"? Would you consider having priorities in the Plan that more precisely reflect the specific characteristics of individual Boroughs and the wishes of the local communities? .

    Police forces in the Boroughs, which account for 40% of the MPS budget, are currently undergoing a rigorous spending review. Are there plans for such an assessment to be made of the 60% of the MPS budget that is spent on central services? Do you think this 40:60 split is the correct funding ratio? .
