    INTERPOL estimate that the Worldwide trade in endangered species is worth US$5 Billion every year. This puts it second only to the illegal trade in drugs, in terms of its cash value. In addition, many of these illegal wildlife crimes including badger baiting, illegal hare coursing and dog fighting are committed by individuals who are stongly suspected to have links to other criminal activities.     Are you aware that, despite the budget increases for the extra 1,000 officers last year and the extra 1,000 officers this year, the amount that the Met is going to be spending on road safety, and on traffic offences, is actually going to be in line with what was being spent in the 1980s and 1990s? .
