In light of the grant settlement, I wonder whether it is time to revisit the level of efficiency savings you are requested to make. What representations have you made to the Mayor and what is the MPA's thinking on that? Maybe you are aware of this, but there is no comfort in terms of the other side if they ever got into national power because they say they would create extra grant for the police in terms of extra resources by savings on asylum policy, a policy based on some `fantasy island" in which they would put asylum seekers and...

Noel Lynch (AM): In your opening remarks you mentioned the TV images and the predominance of attacks on older people, when in actual fact it is most towards young people. Of course, the problem now is that over 50% of over 75s are afraid to leave their houses because they are afraid of getting attacked. What can you do to allay their fears?

But surely even with an expanded service those tensions will still exist between pulling the staff out into central functions even if they are ring-fenced for neighbourhood services.
