  • Community Fire Safety Work (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Angie Bray
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
I appreciate one size does not fit all and I totally agree with that. Would it be fair to say that the way to go forward would be where there is an excellent product, that you would like to use best practice principles in order to extend those practices across the capital?

  • Closure of Manchester Square Fire Station (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Angie Bray
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
I think it is a bit rich coming from my colleague, Mr Hulme Cross, given that he actually voted for the closure of the fire station on LFEPA so there are a bit of crocodile tears going on there I suspect, whereas I, as the local Assembly Member for the constituency, have at all time reflected my concerns about this closure. I recognise what you are saying, that things are not as bad perhaps as they had been predicted, and indeed remain well within your target areas. • Fireworks (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Angie Bray
    • Meeting date: 29 January 2003
I know someone and his friend had their house literally burnt down in Shepherds Bush, when somebody put a firework through the letter box, and he came back to a smouldering ruin. I am worried about banning things, I have to say. My concern is that if you...
  • Displaying Propaganda (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Angie Bray
    • Meeting date: 29 January 2003
I recognise that the problem seems to be partly to do with the fact that the membership of the FBU extends right the way up, as I understand it in some cases, to borough commanders, who've been seen on picket lines. And this is absolutely unacceptable. I recognise that you feel that there is a problem there. My question is what could be done? As I understand it, you can't actually enforce a situation in which you would ask senior officers to step out of the union, nor indeed, presumably, even by offering an alternative union, can you force them...
  • Displaying Propaganda (Supplementary) [7]

    • Question by: Angie Bray
    • Meeting date: 29 January 2003
So what you're saying is that actually the implementation of Bain would possibly help towards sorting out the situation and membership of the FBU?
