This is a very sensitive issue as well I think, but I think many of us understand that many firefighters have work outside of fire fighting, and that providing they are fit for work and able to do the job properly that should not be a problem in any shape or form. Is that an issue in relation to the shift pattern changes?

Well I am disappointed then. My concern is that there are as large number of flats, new places being opened in the area; Abbey National, Marks & Spencer and all the rest of them are turning into flats. We intend that the impact of the Bain Review, the modernisation agenda, would be very far-reaching in London. It would be about being able to broaden the services we provide to cover a wider variety of dangers and risks in London. It would be about us prioritising prevention work and reduction of fires and fires and deaths and other injuries.
