Current estimates suggest around 5.7million people in the UK provide unpaid care to family members, friends and other vulnerable people – often at significant personal cost to themselves. This work is crucial in supporting the NHS, social care system and the wider economy. What measures can your administration put in place to make sure London is the most “carer-friendly” city in the UK, and help unpaid carers receive both the recognition they deserve and the practical support they need to continue in their roles?
