  • Data on cab related sexual offences

    • Reference: 2016/1007
    • Question by: Darren Johnson
    • Meeting date: 16 March 2016
TfL's taxi and private hire senior relationship manager has confirmed that provisional and unverified figures on 'cab related sexual offences' were shared with a Licensing, Compliance and Enforcement meeting in January, and that these were subsequently leaked into the public domain. In the interests of transparency, and to assuage public concerns, will you ask TfL and the Met Police to publish verified open data on a regular basis on all black cab and private hire vehicle related sexual offences?
  • Providing land for smaller builders

    • Reference: 2016/0088
    • Question by: Darren Johnson
    • Meeting date: 20 January 2016
The Government has announced it will parcel large publicly owned sites into smaller plots, to 'directly commission small and up-and-coming companies to build thousands of new homes', including at Old Oak Common. Following this, will you review your approach through the London Land Commission to provide similar opportunities for smaller builders on other publicly owned land across London?
  • Economic case for night tube

    • Reference: 2016/0092
    • Question by: Darren Johnson
    • Meeting date: 20 January 2016
The TfL-commissioned report 'Impact of the Night Tube on London's Night-Time Economy' draws conclusions based on data from a Bus Survey Analytical Report completed eight years ago, and relies on data on taxi and private hire use that pre-dates recent significant changes in that sector. Given that introducing the night tube has proven harder than you expected, shouldn't you commission new research using current data so that any assertions made about the importance of all night running is supported by evidence?

  • Tour de France

    • Reference: 2014/2694
    • Question by: Darren Johnson
    • Meeting date: 23 July 2014
Will you look at how small businesses in London can directly benefit from events like the Tour de France, rather than all the upsides going to the big corporate sponsors, especially when TfL are putting such large sums into supporting such events?
  • Wonga

    • Reference: 2014/2722
    • Question by: Darren Johnson

  • Criminal justice system and road crime

    • Reference: 2014/2741
    • Question by: Darren Johnson
    • Meeting date: 23 July 2014
It appears from your answers to my questions 2014/0100, 2014/1418 and 2014/0673 that you are not willing to investigate the failings of the criminal justice system to provide justice for the victims of road crime, even when one of those victims is a serving police officer. Given your recent statements linking the decline of road casualties with better enforcement by the police, do you think it is time to review the role of the criminal justice system in helping to deliver safer roads in London?

In Hackney, 26% of the population has never used the internet, the local youth unemployment rate is unacceptably high, and high tech employers have told the Assembly that there aren't enough local people with the skills they need. What are you doing as part of the Tech City initiative to redress these issues and ensure it benefits local people?
