On 25 January 2024 the London Assembly unanimously passed my budget related motion, calling on you to prioritise addressing the gaps in training workers in the skills needed for the retrofitting industry and to explore all potential sources of income that can be put towards retrofit programmes, including calling on the Government to provide consistent, multi-year funding without restrictive conditions. Last month, you welcomed new data showing London's 'world beating' hospitality industry defied all expectations in 2023. But there's one caveat you failed to address. You were full of praise for the 250 new restaurant/pub openings in London last year. But data we have suggests more than double that have shut down.
