I have been contacted by constituents regarding removal of vegetation trackside in Pinner. According to residents, they received no advance warning of this work, which has had an impact on animal habitats. Can you provide full details as to why this work, in this specific area was carried out and whether residents were given notice of this work. Are there plans to mitigate the damage that this work has caused to the environment, but also the potential for greater noise disturbance from Met Line trains?

HS2’s own research recognises the ecological importance of Wormwood Scrubs, but the HS2 proposes a scheme that would divert a sewer into the protected ‘Local Nature Reserve’ and ‘Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation’ of Wormwood Scrubs. Campaigners are seeking urgent intervention by local authorities and MPs to try and stop devastation of ecology. A resident has raised an issue about the pollution around their area during weekdays caused during schools runs, particularly idling cars. The school also allows for its grounds to be rented for event-day parking, this contributing to pollution during weekends. The resident is particularly concerned about the poor air quality for children in the area and would like to know what is being done/can be done to reduce the use of cars for school runs, idling and the impact of these on the local communities in which schools are situated.

To ask the Mayor is it true that protesters at the Extinction Rebellion protests before Easter were provided with prepared witness statements, designed to convince the courts that their actions were a “reasonable and proportionate response”? These documents advised protesters to tell officers that they have the support of the Mayor of London, who has declared a “climate emergency” in London.

I welcome the introduction of ULEZ last month which will improve the air quality of our city. However, how do you respond to my constituent concerns that black cabs which are responsible for 25% of the NOx pollution in the city, are exempt from the scheme?

In response to my previous question about air quality at Chamberlayne Road in Brent, you referred to the positive changes being made to Transport for London's diesel buses and that all the buses using Chamberlayne Road now meet the "standard" set by TfL regarding bus emissions. However, there are concerns that this may not significantly reduce Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) levels along Chamberlayne Road, particularly around the Ark Franklin Academy which is one of the 50 schools identified as being one of the worst polluted schools on London's most polluted roads in the Mayor of London's Air Quality Audit of schools...

I welcome the first of 50 air quality audits you have carried out across London. I was concerned to see that your audit revealed that children in two primary schools in my constituency (Borough of Brent) are routinely exposed to illegal levels of pollution. What measures do you plan to put in place in collaboration with Brent Council to improve the quality of air being breathed by pupils at John Keble in Harlesden and Ark Franklin in Kensal Rise?
