    Will you join me in thanking Councillors and council staff across Lambeth and Southwark for their work throughout the recent period of national mourning and their role in ensuring the queue for the lying-in-state of Queen Elizabeth II, which was mainly in the two boroughs, was safe and secure? As you will know, due to pressures to maintain street cleanliness, many parks and street cleaners in Southwark and parts of Lambeth worked an extra 24 hours during Queen Elizabeth’s lying-in-state period.

    It has been welcome to see the Period Products (Free Provision) (Scotland) Bill come into force this summer. This means that anyone who needs period products to get them free of charge, schools, colleges and universities must make a range of period products available for free, in their toilets and the Scottish Government will have the power to make other public bodies provide period products for free.     I have heard from food banks in London that donations are decreasing as the cost of living, especially food, increases, meaning many are topping up donations. This is not a sustainable situation. Whilst there should be no need for food banks, they do vital work in ensuring Londoners do not go hungry. What support can you provide food banks that are receiving less donations?
