Do you think it is acceptable that many boroughs in London are not making progress on healthy streets?

The Health and Safety Executive has said that Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) is now beyond its lifespan and may: “collapse with little or no notice”. Have Transport for London (TfL), London Fire Brigade (LFB) and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) all assessed their estate to ensure that the buildings they own do not contain any RAAC and, if they have found any related risks, what are they and what actions are being taken?

Like my colleague, Caroline [Russell AM], I also met with the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants, who raised a separate issue about asylum seekers living in Home Office asylum accommodation. The guidance from the Home Office says that category 2 health hazards should be made safe within 24 hours and fixed within five days, but I have heard countless examples of Migrant Help - which Caroline [Russell AM] discussed earlier - failing to respond to complaints and help...

Siân Berry AM: These are questions about transport and inequality. Mr Mayor, you can answer this first. We spoke about TfL’s deal the other week. I think you would agree with me that Londoners with the lowest incomes and with the most disadvantages have suffered the most due to the impact of these funding deals. I am thinking particularly about fare rises and the suspension of free travel before 9am for people holding Freedom Passes and 60+ London Oyster cards. Would you agree with me on that?

According to figures reported by HM Prison and Probation Service, it appears that the number of prisoners contracting coronavirus doubled during January 2021. Given the infection risk posed to prisoners, staff, and subsequently the families of staff, do you agree it would be efficient and effective to vaccinate all members of a prison population at the same time, and will you lobby the Government to vaccinate prisoners in this way?

Siân Berry AM: Thank you for coming here, Minister. I have been looking at particularly the £23 million that was allocated by the Government to local authorities and charities last week on 25 January [2020]. This is money for the Community Champions to give vaccine advice and boost the take-up. Looking at the list, it seems that some of the boroughs within London who have not received money are some of the boroughs that have some of the highest populations of minority ethnic groups, in terms of numbers, and some of the most deprived boroughs. I can see Enfield, Croydon...

In your answer to my question 2019/14230 you told me that, to date, no recruitment for Transport for London (TfL) had been name-anonymous but you planned future changes to support this. Have these changes now happened and does TfL now use name-anonymous shortlisting in recruitment?

Can you confirm whether shortlisting for recruitment in all GLA bodies is now name-anonymous, including recruitment done through partner bodies, outsourced specialist recruitment agencies and for any other work programme, such as apprenticeship schemes run by the GLA and Transport for London (TfL)?
